Smallville Season 2 Review
Having Just completed all of season 2 of smallville here are my thoughts on this season. In episode 4 the jarring introduction that Clarks friend Pete knows about Clarks powers was sudden and unexpected, I would have thought that an important piece of plot line like Clark telling his best friend the truth would have been worth filming rather than introduce it as an item that has happened off screen.
This season has moved away somewhat from the villian of the episode system and is looking more into the journey of Clark learning about his true origins. The Chloe, Clark and Lana love triangle is still in place and for the first 3/4 of the season is confusing and fustrating why Clark wont get his finger out and step up. In season 1 Whitney was in the way and Clark being the honest guy he is did not want to seal Lana from him but in season 2 we learn that he was killed while off with the marines leaving the door open for Clark, it takes till near the end of the season for Clark to make his move and by doing so again scorns Chloe who turns to the dark side and agrees to help investigate Clark for Luthor Sr.
The introduction of the smoking man from the X Files was a good move as he make for a great bad guy. this season was a good one but the constant longing looks from Clark, Lana and Chloe does get a bit tiresome, you just want to slap Clark silly. The show seems to be centred as much around the meteor rocks as it does clark kent and they are used as a source of concern each episode, the odd off beat episode would be welcome but over all season 2 was very enjoyable.
